Seventeenth Century dream } Baroque

upcoming trend : Baroque Prints.

Marchesa Fall 2012 catwalk

The Baroque is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and distinct detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in all categories of 17th century art. The style started around 1600 in Italy, spreading to most of Europe. Little did the 17th century artisans know, their intricately detailed Baroque way of life would reappear to become a chic and sophisticated statement for 21st century fashionistas everywhere.

{Friday Favorites}

Who inspired me to start this blog was none other than Lauren Conrad - I am completely in love with her blog and check it almost everyday, and am always so enamored with how lovely everything is and discover so many new things from it. {She also inspired me to use "}" instead of ")".. so much prettier! Genius haha} I related to her and thought, how fun would it be so start a blog full of things that I think are wonderful too, and share with others! One of my favorite features of Lauren's blog is her Friday Favorites - she shares a few of her favorite finds and discoveries of the week. My favorite things change SO quickly - I am constantly finding new inspiration from anything and everywhere. So I thought I would use her concept, and share my favorite inspirations week by week.

Christmas In July }

I don't know about you.. but I have Christmas fever already. My boss keeps a stash of peppermints in a box at work, and I constantly find myself  eating my body weight in these peppermints .. I go into Christmas mode, singing Justin Bieber Christmas songs and every time I walk out the door, I'm almost surprised that it's hot. When I look out the window it seems like it should be cold! Every. single. time. ! I bet I am not the only one who is excited to wear soft sweaters, button-down peacoats ,sequined scarves & trendy tights again!

Shopping: Anthropologie & Charlotte Russe

 Such an amazing shopping day! Started the morning at my favorite store on earth, Anthropologie and discovered that their theme changed again, for Autumn! The theme is now Cafe ! It reminded me of a rustic Parisian cafe - so lovely. They had a whole new collection of tea cups and aprons - two of my favorite items to buy from there, I collect them both! I actually had a surprise interview with their hiring manager as well - so I could possibly WORK there! Magical. So magical.
My favorite of the new aprons ! Such delicate and intricate detailing on the bodice - beautiful.
Tea Set!! In love

Afterwards, I stopped at Charlotte Russe, my other favorite store! I worked there until a few months ago - my favorite job that I have ever had. I loved all of the people I worked with so much, and I just adore the store - all of our clothes and accessories are so on-point with all of the latest fashion trends. Right now it was basically collar frenzy in there - which equals Taylor HEAVEN, (see this blog post)! In the video I show all of the things I bought and their details. I absolutely LOVED catching up with my co-workers!! And absolutely obsessed with my new whimsical additions to my wardrobe.

COULD THEY HAVE PICKED A WORSE THUMBNAIL THOUGH. Omg.

Glowing Goddess: Taylor's TCA Look

Sunday was a big night for Miss Taylor: 5 TCA wins to add to her collection! The country-pop sensation gracefully accepted her awards - while looking luminous and glowing every moment with an absolutely flawless look.
Taylor's use of peach blush gives her a softly flushed look, in combination with highlighter applied under the eyes giving her skin the appearance of glowing. Plum-Magenta eyeshadow and dramatic eyeliner complement the peach-blushed tone of her skin wonderfully - the combination of hues emitting the breathtaking luminous glow.

And the dress ! Silk mousseline, White and flowy with a draped bust bodice, multi-leveled hem and the best part: chic cutouts on each side, with nude tulle overtop - giving the cut-out effect without showing too much skin. SO pretty. Designed by Marcia Lucia Hohan, the dress is actually floor length, but Taylor got it hemmed to be shorter for her, since the TCA's aren't exactly a ball gown event. She accessorized with nude tones, with her nude clutch and pumps - beautifully complementing her peach blushed make-up. For the night, Taylor was most definitely a Grecian Goddess.

Just Peachy

Cute and Pretty is back on the radar  - The soft tones of peach make a bold statement in a very sweet and soft way. This demure color has been spotted as an it color in many aspects of fashion this summer season, from everyday style staples, to couture as shown in Elie Saab's lookbook. The color can be styled in many ways - the color on a cotton dress has a very classy and demure effect. Add the color to shimmering silver like in Elie Saab's couture gowns produces almost an other-worldly effect - mesmerizing and wonderstriking as it almost blends in with skin tone, but leaving you as a shimmering goddess. For summer, peach has a fresh and dewy effect - a refreshing break from the constant flow of neon and bolds. For an extra sweet combo, pair both peach and mint in an outfit - creating the contrast of warm/cool. Being hot mid-summer leading to cooler Autumn, that combination provides an extra lovely effect.

Elie Saab's using the tone in one of his signature pastel-toned gowns! Shimmer.

Mint and Peach! Warm and Cool tones with a sweet effect.

LC Lauren Conrad

A few of my favorite finds from Lauren Conrad's "LC Lauren Conrad" line at Kohl's - I just think her line is absolutely brilliant! She has a way of taking elegant/classy looks and adding cute little details to make them trendy and chic. Scallops at interesting angles, ruffles, lace, and my favorite of her details, a collar with beaded BOW TIE. Needless to say, absolutely OBSESSED.

Collared Whimsy }

Trend alert - a WHIMSICAL twist on a CLASSIC look , this is one of my absolute favorites. Collars are back - the more whimsical and intricately detailed, the better. Collared shirts have always been a staple for a classy addition to an outfit - a lift of sophistication for any look. Except now it has been discovered that if you add little details to a collar like SPIKES. JEWELS. or LACE , not only do you get that added sophistication, but also an entirely new whimsy chic asthetic.

WonderstruckEnchanted

BackToBlogging?! Yes. And I have brilliant news to share. Women's Wear Daily has just announced that Taylor Swift is releasing her next fragrance Wonderstruck Enchanted later this year!! As you know, I am a massive massive fan, so this is extremely exciting news. Wonderstruck is my absolute favorite fragrance, and not JUST because it is Taylor's, but because it honestly is just a wonderful and lovely scent. Like Wonderstruck, Wonderstruck Enchanted will be fresh, fruity and floral - but with more sensual, cozy woodsy notes in it as well. And the BOTTLE. Scarlet Red! *swoon* So soo excited. Wonderstruck Enchanted will be as alluring and enchanting as ever ;)
