Elie Saab Couture {Fall 2012}

Always fresh out of a fairy tale - Elie Saab's imagination and designs never cease to enchant. His Fall 2012 Couture line flowed light as air, inspired by "Imperial splendor". Beautiful hues and embellishments tell the story of the wonderous imperial fantasy. Saab's brilliance shows through his ability to use materials to achieve an ephemeral, weightless quality to the gowns - sheer fabrics with rich and intricate embellishment. The entrance black tones, deep teal, the beautiful shimmery nude/peach, and soft yellow/green give an interesting edge to the delicate details of each dress in the show, beautifully displaying Saab's motif of imperial splendor. Each dress embodies thoughtful, intricate, wonderstriking detail ; mesmerizing anyone and everyone in sight.
The entrance of the show. BLACK. Dark and Twisted

Shimmering Nudes - always a favorite of mine. Has such an other-worldly effect

My absolute FAVORITE hue & detail of the show. Peach infused with shimmery nude.  BEAUTIFUL, and has such an other-worldly effect - gives the skin the effect of shimmering all over!

The sporadic placement of shimmering, shiny golden/nude detail on theis dress. FAVORITE detail.

Taupe. LOVE the sleeve and neckline detail of the second dress.. So gorgeous.

Cinderella Blue! - but unlike the disney princess, these dresses have a much more fitted silhouette - a modern update.

Deep Teal. The high neckline with long sleeves of the second dress displays such a cool and refreshing contrast to the other styles!
The yellow/green - perhaps the must surprising and delightful shade of Saab's line. Embodies the feeling of Autumn/Fall! Shimmering in splendor.

The yellow/green infused with the Cinderella Blue and Gray in these dresses.. absolutely enchanting.. infinitely exquisite asthetic

And the showstopper dress below, the finale of the show.
Reminds me of the Swan Princess.. a girl transformed into something absolutely lovely from another world. So effervescent.. Enchanting.

Olympic Fashion

August 12th, 2012 - the end to an incredible summer Olympics. The Closing Ceremony was nothing short of incredible - the Brits really blew it out of the park, creating an absolutely magical night in London. The entire ceremony flowed flawlessly, exhibiting so much talent and so much whimsical, crazy and quirky creativity that the Brits are excellent at throwing together.

The biggest supermodels of Britain strutted the Olympic runway and owned it - with big names including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Donaldson. Each carried onto the stage by giant floats with fashion editorials, the editorals stripped of the float with high-impact and led each model to strut from all corners of the Union Jack to center stage, along to David Bowie's "Fashion".

 Soft golds, nudes, whites, soft limes.. LOTS of shimmer.

British fashion design was showcased! Threads by Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Burberry and Christopher Kane.

Kate Moss. focus, poised, beautiful.

 Perhaps the most anticipated portion of the ceremony - SPICE GIRLS REUNITE. Fabulous and Fierce as ever.

Quirky and such Whimsicality.

Jessie J - showing off her fierce, skin-tight shimmery nude catsuits.

Kate Middleton, being her ever-charming and poised self, kept her look perfectly balanced between classic and sporty throughout the Olympics' entire stay in London. Fitted collared shirts, knee-length pencil skirts and the fun blue-hued skinny jeans were very memorable staples.The second picture of William and Kate - DOES it get more adorable?

Her dress for the closing ceremonies - a perfect look to close the Olympics. A blue-patterned dress from Whistles, she keeps it prim, propor and sweet. She actually has worn this dress before, too - just a few months prior at the Queen's Jubilee!

And I just had to include the boys because..well..they're just BEAUTIFUL. And dressed immaculately with the perfect combination of SophisticatedBritishPrep/JustRolledOutOfBed, as always ever, and they got all of their clapping right for once, I was so proud. LOL. and I just might have screamed and close-to-passed-out at each of Niall's close ups.  ..Thank YOU Olympic cameras.

Friday Favorites {although it is saturday}

On account of having an extremely stressful & intensely trialsome couple weeks.. I have not been able to update as often as I usually do. One thing that is so important, for myself, to remember is that no matter what is happening in this world - God is ALWAYS right there and there is always something to smile about. I know tonight is Saturday and I am a day late, but my Friday Favorites are my favorite thing to post about.. here are a few of the things that made me smile, despite the rain.

style spotlight: Edge with Class {cher lloyd}

An eccentric combination of 70% Edgy and 30% Classic - Cher is always looking bold and sassy. Like the best of British style, she gives an effortless and careless/thrown-together air, but the little details like sharp collars, cuffs, buttons and high waistlines give the look a genius stroke of polish. Bold colors and intense Statement pieces characterize Cher's look and illustrate the essence of British style. Never afraid to take risks by mixing all types of different style asthetics, Cher proves to be fearless in the fashion world.
The color block of the black/white & tattoos give a sharp and bold effect, while the pointed collar, buttons and cuffs add a crispness and proper air.

High-waisted shorts give a definite classic base to the outfit - but when accessorized with a detailed chain, color-blocked pockets with a matching color-blocked necklace, the classic base recieves the distinct contrast of meeting edge. Combined with the skull top, BOLD edgy hairstyle and dark makeup, Cher proves to be fearless.

Collared chiffon blouse and lace high waisted shorts are a classic British staple - and she once again used the classic white & black contrast to give a sharp asthetic to the look.

One of my favorites. Once again she bases her outfit on the classic staples of high-waisted shorts with a vest, but combines bold patterns and colors to give a visual edge. White/Black Stripes + Union Royal Banner + Bright Red + Blue + Messy wild hair would seem to equal chaotic mess if written on paper, but pieced together by Cher equals a visual boldness that is absolutely brilliant.

{Friday Favorites}

Who inspired me to start this blog was none other than Lauren Conrad - I am completely in love with her blog and check it almost everyday, and am always so enamored with how lovely everything is and discover so many new things from it. {She also inspired me to use "}" instead of ")".. so much prettier! Genius haha} I related to her and thought, how fun would it be so start a blog full of things that I think are wonderful too, and share with others! One of my favorite features of Lauren's blog is her Friday Favorites - she shares a few of her favorite finds and discoveries of the week. My favorite things change SO quickly - I am constantly finding new inspiration from anything and everywhere. So I thought I would use her concept, and share my favorite inspirations week by week.
